Started my team tonight. Completed a challenge and played 3 head-to-head matches. I won my first two games, but fell short in the third match with a pick at the 10 yard line down by 3. I made a poor decision. Had the outside to run with my QB, but a guy broke open late, and when I threw the ball, it hung up there for the LB to pick it. Ultimately, I enjoy Ultimate Team more than I thought I would! ;)

But I got all the Gold Drills players and the :SEC: pack thanks to my pre-order at Gamestop so hopefully I'll start with a decent enough team that I can cruise through and win an early tourny (or whatever the trophy is for)

this mode has frozen on me twice in 2 days when backing out of a head to head game...it freezes at the part where the screen goes a little dark shade but never lightens again as usual and the music still plays...you can still push the ps button and get the ps menu to quit game though

Nope and it RUINS the mode. I'd actually prob REALLY LIKE playing guys I know here at TGT or at least if you could tell how your team stacked up before you play. My team is basically a starter pack plus the pre-order bonus and I'm at like 78-80 OVR I think. I played a guy last night who had all the Heisman cards and the rest must have been Gold b/c his o-line just pancaked me all over the place and his secondary played BNR the entire game and my receivers couldn't get off the jam.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand why I will never play this mode. Limburger cheese. I did play one game tho, ended up being my wolverines against a cheesy Ohio State. Picked him of with Charles Woodson to seal the win. It was one play from the end off the game so he didn't quit.

Man the weekly solo challenges. The CPU plays so damn tough, and it's supposed to on All-American. Hell even in the Varsity difficulty Flutie played like he was invincible.

Grinded through all the trophies except the Championship one. Got beat in the semis against a STACKED team and still only lost 10-7. Moved up to level 2? I think I'm going to put the game down for a few days and start dynasty. I HATE playing randoms with a passion and I get ZERO joy out of "opening" packs of cards.

I really don't see how people have already filled their teams with 95+ ovr players all over the place unless they are spending hundreds of dollars for packs of cards.

Pay to win is not my cup of tea.

The Britt was a nice surprise. That's the caliber/rating I was expecting more of in the pre-order pack.

Getting Game Extensions, etc. are nice but not when they take up 3 of 5 card slots.

Went in the auction house and bought the Houston collectible for 2000 coins or something, completed that collection to get the Andre Ware Heisman Finalist card. Now I have to beat the Andre Ware game challenge, and I'll get the Andre Ware Heisman Winner card. Played the game, lost on a last second FG.

I tend to look through the Auction Block (sorting by a specific school) to see what a player's highest rated card is and also how popular/rare one may be. I have not seen many Suh's out there.

I would assume there will be a Woodson Heisman card/collectible at some point.

I think people are enjoying it more than they thought they would, but there's still plenty of feedback in regards to issues/complaints with the mode.

I saw some people complaining about EA offering the game extensions at a discount since they were able to turn them for a profit in the Auction House. I didn't know there was such a market for those cards given they come in every pack (it seems).

I wish the Legendary set wasn't just tied to Heisman winners. That's mostly QB's and HB's. I'd like to see a little more variety on those cards that you can get and then upgrade with collections and beating teams.

Add to pending collections
Add to collection

I wish they would cut out at least one of those steps.

yep, dumb...you need to be able to do more from reserves or add some kind of bullpen section to move cards anywhere

Agree completely. There needs to be an easier way to move cards to Pending, perhaps a larger Pending card bank, and maybe even a way to view what collection(s) (if any) a card belongs to.

in madden this past year you can play - play now- mut games against AI for tokens. You can play friends. You can see a chart and leaderboard of friends cards and W-L records ETC. You can do none of that in NCAA. Is that too little time to make in a year or because the NCAA budget is smaller ?

madden had 16 game seasons for every team for tokens. Until they add more games I'm already done with these challenges and only have like...15000 tokens/coins.

FINALLY figured out you could just buy the stupid collection cards so bought Mark Ingram for like 11k coins and I already had the Alabama one turned it in and am now FINISHED with this mode.

As opposed to the limited time packs a week or so ago, the ones they have today are not a good value IMO. You should be able to buy 12 gold cards at auction for way less than 160k coins or whatever it is. At $8 a pack, IMO, you would be better off getting the $8 or $16 All America bulk packs.

Alright, I need to start playing this, sooner or later. So how does one play Ultimate Team? I opened some packs, but what next? What is the Reserves? If there's a link or video that explains the basics, go for it. A quick Google didn't really help.

Reserves are players that are not on your active roster but you still retain them should you need them (like if a player gets injured or you runs out of games you can play with a particular player). The basic goal of Ultimate Team is to collect cards, which you do by buying them with coins, which you earn by playing games against either humans or challenges against the CPU. Basically, play games, get coins, buy packs, make your team bad ass.

seems like they worked on the over all ratings math the last 2 years. It seems you don't need a really large bunch of high rated players like in Madden in the past to get your team rated higher. Mine is a 91 so far and it didn't seem to take that many games or that much tokens to get there.

last year it seemed like you needed a lot player rated 90 to get your team to be rated 90 :dunno:

It does kinda matter. If you're good enough, you're going to get promoted. If you continue to win, you get promoted again.

Pretty sure it just matches you with whoever is available. You could be playing in your Season 5 Championship against a Season 1 guy playing his first game, for example. There's not enough players online to actually match it season to season, or at least I highly doubt it.

people will find they cant sell as much as quickly for a lot like in madden and being the selfish kids they are will turn them off from playing it.

The point of it is the fact that they were contenders for the Heisman, and for you to try to win the match against that card's Ultimate Team to re-write history.

level 4...I just won 2 playoff games in the first qtr because I played 2 of the laziest people/kids who don't like any amount of adversity and quit as soon as things went bad :D that upsets me to a degree because I lost 2 great highlights.

I can sell them for as low as 150 coins I think. The key is that you buy them once I post so one steps in ahead of you. (Doing an Auction Search by Friends Only helps.) If you build up some coins, let me know and we'll work something out.

I think i'm addicted to this mode. I can't play anything else or what too! I'm enjoying Ultimate team for the first time. I dunno why but I like it a lot better then Madden UT. I think because there are more players to collect I dunno. But it's to addicting. I Just couldn't stop last night. My games against the CPU in solo challenges have been so close lately it's insane. Now that I have a good team it's more fun. I just need Tebow , but damn he's way too much lol. But I landed a free Vince Young freshman and he's pretty good.

What will I do to earn coins once all the solo challenges are completed ?

play season mode agaianst people...1000 or more for wins...500 or more for losses... just play for the tokens and ignore the cheesers

Not sure if any is playing Ultimate team lately but they have a Vandy team challenge up and its worth 7500 coins! Good way for quick cash if u need it. It seems fairly easy if you have any thing over 85 team. Which I beat my team with it so. Just a heads up.
