I've luckily gotten the #1 pick past two seasons and I took Arian Foster each year.

Year before last he had nagging hamstring issue I believe. This past year think he had an injury as well.

My teams that I run, I always stick with my Midway Monsters team name, but I'm getting into a dynasty auction league ran by Donny Moore, and the buy-in is $100, so I'm splitting with a friend from work. I came up with Hernandez City Hitmen

One of my leagues did their drawing for the draft order. #1

This will be interesting. I guess it comes down to AP, Doug Martin, and Adrian Foster.

You're insane if you think Doug Martin deserves to be up there with AP and Foster. No freakin' way. I'd take Reggie Bush before I took Martin.

Fantasy Draft Last night. Pretty happy with my team. Yes I do realize I have 3 TEs. We do nominations in our auction league and a bunch of people needed TEs yet so I nominated Jared Cook and got stuck with him for $1.

Draft Peyton Manning; profit from his career year

Drafted Manning and Spiller last year late and boy did they pay off. Don't think I'll take a QB in Round 1 though. I'm almost always a RB; RB guy with my picks.

I actually was able to snag Manning in my one lone draft this year. I actually like the team I got put together this year. RB is probably my weakest area. I'm loaded at WR and set at QB and TE with great starters and very solid backups. I may have to look at doing some trading or drop/add in the coming days. I've only got 3 RBs and have 5 WRs.

$100 auction league draft was last night. Co-owning it with a friend, and I think we came out pretty good as it is going to be a dynasty league. Getting Randall Cobb for $55 ($300 budget) was a steal. It was our first pick, as people were blowing their wads Ram-style. One guy blew so much of the budget early, he didn't get a starting QB or RB :D love it when suckers like that join the league.

Two drafts today. Have a Yahoo Public Pro $20 league with randoms through the site and my league's draft in it's 13th season. Yahoo I won't know until 30 minutes before where I draft. My league I'm 5th. Think I'm going to go for Spiller, unless someone unexpected falls to me.

Had my draft on Saturday for my $ league

However I missed it because I went to a gun bash and won a gun...that included all you could drink. Tickets were $25 :sf:

So I had my team auto-drafted...and I didn't rank any of the players....just best available. I just set min and max limits on the positions I wanted :fp:

I had the 10th pick out of 14 teams

1st: RB - Marshawn Lynch
2nd: RB - LeSean Mccoy
3rd: WR - Demaryius Thomas
4th: WR - Vincent Jackson
5th: RB - Reggie Bush
6th: RB - Ryan Mathews
7th: RB - Giovanni Benard
8th: QB - Ben Roethlisberger
9th: WR - Emmanual Sanders
10th: WR - Josh Gordon
11th: WR - Deaundre Hopkins
12th: D/ST - Patriots
13th: K - Blair Walsh
14th: QB - Jay Cutler
15th: TE - Tyler Effiert
16th: TE - Z. Miller

I would have went QB much earlier than that, but looking at the way the draft went not sure how many of those I'd have taken..other than Andrew Luck.

I like Lynch. He is 3rd on a lot of boards. He slipped to 5th in my league.

If for some reason Foster or Charles falls to 4, get him.

I think in a non-PPR league, Rice will be less valuable as Pierce could steal goaline carries.

Ummm... with 6 points for a TD he's projected to be the top point getter in most leagues and 50 points more than the 4th rated QB in Manning. Hell yeah he should go early. AP should go #1 since he's heads and tails over the #2 RB and then your top 3 QBs should go.

Well, I've always been one to question why, in a league where more and more teams are throwing the ball 55%+, that QBs that can get you 300 yards and 3 TDs should be worth more than a RB that only averages a TD and 100 yards a game.

In today's game, based on just last season's team stats, teams are throwing for an average of 262 yards and 1.6 TDs which means, on average (with 20 yards per point and 4 points for a TD) you get 19.5 points per game out of a QB. That increases to 22.7 points per game with 6 points per TD.

Compared to teams averaging 123 yards per game and 0.84 rushing TDs per game for an average of 20.34 points per game (10 yards per point and 6 points for a rushing TD), clearly, with 6 points per TD, it's better to take a great QB early than it is a great RB early, but because of the RB by committee mentality of the NFL now, it's also pretty clear that, for the most part, great QBs are better than great RBs.

I mean, take my keeper league last year. With a league setup of 20 yards per point, +3 points for 300 yards, 4 points for TD passes, and -1 for interceptions, there are still 6 QBs ahead of the single best Fantasy Football season ever from a RB in AP last year.

Because as much as it seems like QBs are worth more than RBs, the amount of drop off between great RBs and good RBs is HUGE in this RB by committee NFL world.

True. That's why I said AP #1. But in all honesty after him 2-10 are pretty close RB wise. With QBs if you can't get Top 3 then the same happens as 4-12 are very close.

Three drafts to go in $ leagues.

In my big $ keeper league, I've been offered Spiller for Rice pre-draft. We can keep three players, and what ever round the player was drafted in is where you won't draft. If I make the deal, I will get my first round pick back because Spiller was taken in the 7th.

Got a draft on Sunday, where I drew the first pick, so definitely AP, wonder who will be there at the end of the 2nd.

Who the hell are you drafting with? :D

Had my draft on Saturday for my $ league

However I missed it because I went to a gun bash and won a gun...that included all you could drink. Tickets were $25 :sf:

So I had my team auto-drafted...and I didn't rank any of the players....just best available. I just set min and max limits on the positions I wanted :fp:

I had the 10th pick out of 14 teams

1st: RB - Marshawn Lynch
2nd: RB - LeSean Mccoy
3rd: WR - Demaryius Thomas
4th: WR - Vincent Jackson
5th: RB - Reggie Bush
6th: RB - Ryan Mathews
7th: RB - Giovanni Benard
8th: QB - Ben Roethlisberger
9th: WR - Emmanual Sanders
10th: WR - Josh Gordon
11th: WR - Deaundre Hopkins
12th: D/ST - Patriots
13th: K - Blair Walsh
14th: QB - Jay Cutler
15th: TE - Tyler Effiert
16th: TE - Z. Miller

I would have went QB much earlier than that, but looking at the way the draft went not sure how many of those I'd have taken..other than Andrew Luck.

Two drafts over the weekend. That just leaves the big money draft on Sunday for me. Here is what I got:

This league there are points for returners by yardage and etc, so that's how I planned my backups:

I've already won my week 1 matchup. 60 points alone from Peyton Manning, 28 from Demaryius Thomas, 16 from Wes Welker, Montee Ball with a whopping 2 (he's gonna be riding my bench next week). I already have 106 points with four offensive players, my kicker and my defense yet to play on Sunday.

Wes Welker on my team in the other $ league

This was my auto draft pick league. Sadly we couldn't get everyone around for the live draft oh well. I was lucky enough to rank my players and get them all pretty much even my defense players. I was D.Thomas but didn't oh well. Here are my results.

Colin Kaepernick, SF QB
Frank Gore, SF RB
Chris Ivory, NYJ RB (A wtf pick)
Larry Fitzgerald, Ari
Mike Wallace WR
Julius Thomas TE Denver
49ers D/ST
Phil Dawson K

Back ups are Seabass OKA K
Broncos Defense / SP
Jay Culter QB
I added Peyton Hills and cut Dwyer since he is FA . I dunno why he was even drafted oh well.
Nate Washington Ten WR.
I also got Pats D/SP . May use them in a trade.

The way RG III is playing tonight, I might be starting Carson Palmer next week.

I didn't reach for RG III, just was at the end of a QB run where I thought Stafford would still be there for me, so I had no other choice but to gamble.

I need to check my league. I was the only one to have my match-up completed (neither of our teams had any players left) and won by the end of the afternoon games. Everyone else still had players going Sunday night and Monday night, plus all the other match-ups were still within 20 points of each other at the end of the Sunday afternoon games.

It's only week 1, but it was a weird week. Only went 1-6 in money leagues, but won in the biggest league. 2 wins actually as we also play against the league average in the 20 team auction league. I'm not too worried, I had good performances, just ran into buzzsaws.

Man, what the fuck happened to Tom Brady and this offense?! 17 points against the shitty Jets defense?! Good lord I'm fucked if he keeps this shit up.

Jack shit for receivers this year. Brandon Lloyd is gone (was cut in March, still a free agent, reportedly has turned six teams about returning this season, including the Patriots), Aaron Hernandez obviously gone, Wes Welker (leading receiver last year) in Denver, Rob Gronkowski is inactive, Danny Woodhead's now with the Chargers.

Those were the top 5 Patriots receivers last year, all gone (with exception to Gronk who is inactive due to injury). The Patriots had 4,844 receiving yards in the entire 2012 season. Those five combined for 3,984 of those receiving yards. Out of the 34 receiving touchdowns last year, those five combined for 29 of them.

Danny Amendola didn't play last night, Julian Edelman has been trying his best to fill the massive gaping hole left from the off-season, but he can't do it all himself, plus I don't really think he's a true #1 receiver. But him and Amendola are the best the Pats have right now. They're the only receivers the Pats have right now. They also have only two tight ends right now with Gronk and someone else on the inactive list. And of their two playing tight ends, one isn't even a receiving tight end, but considered an extra offensive lineman, a pure blocking TE. So the Patriots and Brady just don't have shit to throw the ball to. When Amendola and Gronk come back from their injuries, it will help. But the Pats will still need a lot more help than just the return of those two.

Yeah, but all of those guys were nobodies until this offense. I figured they'd continue the trend and just plug in more guys I'd never heard of and keep on chugging. Sadly, that has not been the case.

They were nobodies, well most of them. But there is a key thing. Being on the same page. Woodhead, Lloyd, etc. they were all on the same page as Brady. These rookies are not there yet. You have to remember Thompkins and Dobson are rookies. That's why Edelman had 13 catches last night. He's the only one who has rapport with Brady before this season. Timing for routes and etc will eventually come with Thompkins and Dobson....but you just can't expect perfection right out of the gate here.

Won the $100 auction league that I'm splitting with someone to go to 4-0 on the season (we play against the league average too).

Lost my big money league because my RB's are far underperforming (Rice / Richardson) to go to 0-2.

However, all my other leagues I won to get back to 1-1.

Won with ease. In fact, I've already won and still have BenJarvus Green-Ellis to go tonight.

While I'm taking nothing for granted each and every week, the big match-up on my schedule comes week 7, when I run into the other buzz saw in the league. He had a monster weekend, getting 25 points from DeSean Jackson, 21 points from the Seahawks D/ST, 18 points from Randall Cobb, 16 points from LeSean McCoy, 14 points each from Drew Brees and Matt Forte, 13 points from Sebastian Janikowski, 10 points from Antonio Gates. Ugh.

His opponent this week got 43 points from Aaron Rodgers, plus had double digits from Arian Foster and Victor Cruz. It didn't matter, he still smoked his opponent by 33 points. He is gonna be an utter bitch to beat in week 7.

Just got a trade offer. Drew Brees for Matt Forte straight up. I would get Brees. Had to turn it down.

I have Luck so while he might not score as much as Brees I think he'll be a top 5 QB at season end. That and my RBs are Forte, Steven Jackson and DMC. With Steven Jackson unsure with that thigh bruise I think it would put me in a bad situation if I pulled the trigger.

That now sets up the big showdown of the season in my league with the battle of the 6-0 teams. We're the last undefeated teams in the league, the third place team sitting at 4-2, so whoever wins next week will get a big leg up in the race for the playoffs.

In the battle of the last two unbeatens in my league, I'm currently losing 96-45, however, between this Denver-Indy game and the Monday night game, I have 6 players still to go (QB, both RBs, WR and Flex), while my opponent has no players left.

So despite trailing by 51 points, I'm feeling comfortable that I can get the win this week and be the last undefeated team in my league. It also helped that a lot of his best players were on a bye week this week. Drew Brees was on a bye, Marques Colston was on a bye, Marcel Reece and Lance Moore on byes, and Sebastian Janikowski on a bye. With Matt Flynn and Randall Cobb both out this week, he had slim pickings this week. Which should help me get the win. God bless the bye week. If this was last week and Reggie Wayne was still healthy I'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat but I think TY is going to have a big end of the year with Wayne down. I think my ass is going to sweat out a win this week. I was in bye week hell this week. QB, RB, 2 WRs, D/ST and K all on bye weeks.

Thankfully, I think I might pull it out, thanks in part to :sf:'s suggestion of picking up Keenan Allen instead of Harry Douglas or Kenny Stills.

I also caught a break by my opponent's players sucking. He got only 1 point from Darren McFadden, only 5 points from Steve Smith, only 1 point from Darrius Heyward-Bey, and the Patriots D were only good for 5 points. Even RG3 was worthless enough to only get him 10 points. Even his bench players sucked it up. Only player that performed worth a damn on his bench was Chris Ivory. All he has left to play tonight are Eddie Lacy, Brandon Marshall and Mason Crosby kicking.

I'm currently holding onto a 51 point lead, thanks in part to 30 points from T.Y. Hilton, 23 points from Jimmy Graham and 18 points from Keenan Allen. Made up for the whole 6 points I got from Andy Dalton Thursday night. So it appears a massive break for me in the middle of my bye week hell.

Trying to decide on three guys to fill two slots.

Picking between Wes Welker, Josh Gordon and T.Y. Hilton.

Welker has been sort of under-performing for me lately, and while it sounds like he has been cleared for tonight's game, he's listed as probable due to last week's concussion. And god only knows if he takes another hard hit tonight, if that'll sideline him the rest of the game either because of injury or the team doing it out of precaution. Gordon has been actually performing fairly well lately, the Browns starting to throw more to him, thus him putting up more points. And Hilton has been hit or miss. One week he has a huge game for a lot of points, the next he either doesn't don't as well or the Colts do target him as much, and his points end up low.

SmoothPancakes
11-24-2013, 10:08 AM
Just looking back at their points over the last 5 weeks, it's pretty much god only knows who is going to put up the points this week.

Week 11
Welker - 7
Gordon - 18
Hilton - 4

Week 10
Welker - 2
Gordon - Bye
Hilton 13

Week 9
Welker - Bye
Gordon - 5
Hilton - 30

Week 8
Welker - 14
Gordon - 19
Hilton - Bye

Week 7
Welker - 9
Gordon - 2
Hilton - 2

Their opponents this week:

Welker - AT Patriots
Gordon - VS Steelers
Hilton - AT Cardinals

I have Decker in the league I run, and it would have sealed me into the 6th seed. Yep. His numbers lately, at the time, I had better options to start at WR than him. Then he pulls this massive night out of his ass and it's all for nothing as far as my roster is concerned. Now I'm gonna have a hell of a decision next week in the first round of the playoffs. Do I start him again and hope for another big night (definitely not as good as tonight, but at least well into the teens or maybe even inching into the twenties), or do I leave him on the bench? I'm gonna be thinking about this all week now.

Looking back at my matchup this week, one good thing, I did make sure to start Josh Gordon. 261 yards receiving and two touchdowns for a big 38 points. It would have been sweeter to have Decker's 41 points as well, but, oh well, nothing I can do about it. Thankfully, between Gordon, Moreno and Manning, I should have the win secured. A win will secure the top seed in the playoffs, a loss will leave me in second, due to losing a head to head tiebreaker if I'm in a tie after this week.
