A few changes with three matches today. US/Honduras/Costa Rica in three way tie for second. Panama in first place. With three teams advancing and the fourth playing New Zealand, at this point Mexico is in fifth place and out of the World Cup. Sure there are matches left but when it comes to USA Soccer I take any victory I can, especially when Mexico is involved.

It was not easy to watch. Mexico easily won possession and every time I blinked they were attempting another corner kick. Our defense was great, especially considering we had a couple young inexperienced players on the back line (they are top of the line MLS players but little National experience). If you wanted an idea about the offense, imagine Dean Smith running the old four corner stall offense that was lucky to string together 5 passes in a row. Mexico needs to get rid of those horrendous black jerseys and go back to the classic green.

Better chance than Canada. USA USA USA! Everything depends on the draw and hopefully we wont have to face Ghana. Making it to the knockout round would be expected by most fans. Getting back to the Quarterfinals would be great. Anything beyond that is gravy.
