I'll mainly be using Dynasty Wire, but I'll try to keep the thread updated, but first an introduction:

Montreal--

Coming from what seemed to be left field, the NCAA has allowed the newly built Montreal University to become a FBS school. Montreal will replace the most recent entrants, Western Kentucky, in order for the NCAA to have a stamp in Canadian athletics.

Montreal has named newcomer Damien Villette as their first head coach. They will enter the FBS as an Independent, replacing Army as they have moved into the Sun Belt Conference. When asked what brought the move to Canada, NCAA interim chairman Jim Isch answered “We felt that allowing a school that is based in Canada to join the NCAA would bring better exposure to not only campus in the US, but also allow Montreal, and hopefully down the line many more, schools in Canada to be motivated to join the NCAA family.”

Montreal’s schedule will be released next week, but considering that its their first year in the NCAA, it should be fairly weak.

I'll work on it a bit more when I get to work. I'll try to get some "practice" shots of their jerseys in game.

Eastern Michigan Preview

Montreal –

The Knights are getting ready for their first game in school history, and the town couldn’t be more excited. Although it is an away game, there will be plenty of bars around town broadcasting it.

“At first I was a bit skeptical about the move to the NCAA, but after watching a few NCAA games from last season, I’m excited to see the Knights succeed” said one bar owner. The people in town feel like something great in Montreal is about to happen, and they want to be the first ones on the bandwagon.

The Knights are playing the Eastern Michigan Eagles on the 28th at 12:30. Will the first game in school history be a win? Montreal seems to think so.

Unfortunately, that is coming up with an error at the moment. Hopefully it's just them having issues with the server...

Montreal Win on First Try

Montreal—
First Quarter:
The first quarter started off real good for Montreal. They get a 3 and out on their first defensive possession, and they are seemingly marching down the field. They get around the 20 yard line when their QB, Jean-Jacque Rabaud throws the first INT to EMU’s senior impact CB Johnny Sears. Eastern Michigan would come back onto the field, only to have another 3 and out, ending on the first sack for the Knights by rSO Left DE Lionel Dortch. The Knights would get the punt only to give the ball right back to EMU with a three and out on their own. 0-0 end of the first quarter.

Second Quarter:
The second quarter started out the same way as the first one did for the Eagles, with a punt. The first drive for the Knights in the second half looked like it was going to be a touchdown drive, but it stalled out at the end, and Montreal’s first points would be a field goal. Montreal would get their first touchdown on a punt return fumble, as Maurice Newby, a rJR, would lay a big hit on Sears, and pick up the fumble for a do it himself touchdown. Now this happened in the last 30 seconds of the half, so with 14 seconds left EMU decides to run the clock out. However, due to great blocking by the EMU OL, Dwanye Priest would run for 78 yards to a touchdown, setting an NCAA record in the process. So instead of a 10-0 halftime speech, coach Villette had to change it around because now it’s 10-7.

Third Quarter:
There wasn’t a whole lot of offense in the third, as both teams defenses stepped up, but in the fourth quarter, it would get exciting.

Fourth Quarter:
The fourth quarter was a defensive battle; causing Rabaud to throw is third pick of the game. EMU would march down the field to kick a field goal to tie the game up at 10 all. Rabaud would take the field knowing he had to put his 3 interceptions behind him, and lead his team to glory. Rabaud would throw a screen pass to running back Louis Thierry and it would go for 48 yards and get the Knights in the redzone. They milk the clock a bit to kick a field goal with only 18 seconds left to win the game! What a way to win your first game Montreal!

Yeah that really had me ticked, especially at the end of the first half.

Well seeing that I can't save an offline copy of an OD, I'll most likely start a new dynasty offline, so I may not keep this dynasty report alive. I'm still debating my dedication to write down the stats after every game.

I know stats are saved if you do it online. I'm WAY too lazy to write stuff down manually. :D Why do you need an offline saved copy? Because of servers?

He was thinking about just taking this offline because the online portion is such a headache to use (and there are some pretty shitty glitches).

Truthfully, I don't plan on putting any stats down in mine except for the week in review stuff and the game stuff and that takes, at most, an hour total or so.

Yeah I may just do that, and put end of the year numbers. I'll just use a notebook and write down some notes after each game.

That's exactly what I do to keep track of school records (even more so now that I've went from '10 to '11 and, obviously, the previous records don't carry over).

Game Recap

Talk about a sloppy game! There were so many fumbles and dropped passes that I didn’t think anyone would be able to hold on to the ball long enough to score. It was the first home game for Montreal and their opponent Hawaii was coming in 0-1and looking to rebound.

Hawaii was first to strike with a TD pass to K. Pilares for 51 yards. And that would be the only touchdown in the first half with both teams struggling to overcome the rainy weather.

In the second half, the Knights score on their first drive, when back up Tim Rust throws a 76 yard pass to Larry Valentine for a touchdown. Then on the next drive he outdoes himself by throwing a 78 yard TD pass to Valentine again. Hawaii would kick a 34 yd field goal to bring them with 4 at the end of the third quarter.

Hawaii starts off the fourth quarter with a TD run by Bryant Moniz to take the lead. Later on in the quarter, Rust throws another TD pass to none other than Larry Valentine to take a 21-17 lead, which would also be the final score as Montreal’s defense would step and stop Hawaii late in the fourth.

Does anyone know how to import things from AVID onto forums? And sorry for the lack of updates, I been debating a change of format with myself and I finished my first season up. I'll try to get a end of the year post up within the next couple of days.
