Texas A&M jumped out to an early lead in the Swamp and held on for a 28-21 victory over the Florida Gators. Mister Jones led the way with 122 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and added another touchdown on a 46-yard screen pass on the first series of the game. The Aggies pounded the Gators with their running game in the first half, as Jones had 88 rushing yards at halftime, and Ben Malena added a 55-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 21-7. The Gators, however, scored on a 42-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the first half. The second half was a game of field position, and neither team scored until Jones scored on third-and-goal from the 4 yard line with two minutes left. The Gators countered with a quick touchdown of their own, but the Aggies recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.

In recruiting news, the Aggies announced the commitments of a 4-star wide receiver and a 4-star athlete.
