Gamespot gave it a 7.5. They weren't very impressed and said it's not worth buying if you already own '11.
I'll go on record as saying this game will BLOW.

I've given up on reading Gamespot, IGN or any other non sports site when they review sports games. When you read those columns a lot of red flags pop up. They often try to hit all the back of the box features and then say stuff that any sports gamer would shake their head out. I remember reading a review of MLB 2K11 and saying they switch pitching to r-stick moves like street fighter. They had those movements in the game for 3 years! They just realized it now? These are very casual gamer reviews that should be taken with a grain of salt.

All I know is that I was impressed enough with the demo to pre-order this thing. And a lot of guys that have it early really seem to like it outside of horrible commentary.

So far, my only real complaints are related to some annoyances with presentation. And, yes, the commentary is well below standard.

I just finished a half on 14 minute quarters and had 61 snaps. I love the accelerated clock options, it may actually be possible to play 15 minute quarters.

I haven't moved any sliders except for penalties yet and nothing seems completely out of balance on All-Pro. The DT problems from NCAA are not prevalent and the CPU doesn't hold the ball waiting to be sacked.

As of now, the CPU is able to run well against me too.

Granted, I've only played 8 quarters total.

They also gave Madden 06 for the 360 a 7.4. Guess that really shows you how useless numerical scoring is (since you felt like BOLDING it).

I will go on record too, that by saying that a game BLOWS, based on a single review, BLOWS. I give your assessment of Madden 12 (forget the numbers I am going to go OLD SCHOOL, Daily Freaking Radar, a simple logo is enough to tell you what I really think without the need of breaking it down to a decimal point so metacritc will link to me).

Check out ALL the reviews from the various game sites and they are ALL blasting Madden. No one is cutting them any more slack, they've had YEARS to get this game right and it's still highly flawed.
If folks enjoy then I don't have a problem with it, enjoy the game. But I'm done wasting my time with it and I'm tired of hearing "next year". The people who make Madden are LAZY.

The people who make Madden are LAZY.Video game developers work longer hours than the vast majority of other industries. You can question a lot of things (especially about games you're not a fan of), but laziness is one thing I'm 99.99999999999999% sure doesn't happen at any video game developer.

Weird that reviewers all loved the older games and they weren't very good, and now it seems we actually have a good Madden on next gen consoles and all of the sudden some reviewers wanna bash it...idk

Are people just unhappy in general? Does a game ever get a good review? Seems like when NCAA came out all people could do was complain. All they complain about now is the patch and WHEN is it coming out...complain complain complain....

I'm sorta interested in Madden, I've always been more of an NCAA guy but I'd be interested in Madden....again all I hear is complaints. What football game has ever come out that people are happy with?

I'd like to hear more from the people that LIKE this years' Madden.....

Pretty much any football game that was released before the existence of the internet forum. It is sad but true.

ncaa is better than this game over all...i've seen 2 interceptions because the defender morphed through my receiver....i dont totally hate it(this madden) but NCAA 12 just feels and plays better than this madden..how fast is the fast setting because slow doesnt seem that slow LOL

the madden game just seems a little simplistic compared to ncaa 12...than again, thats why it sells so much along with other factors

..I do prefer the run blocking in Madden as opposed to NCAA

No, it sells more because the NFL, in general, is more popular than college football. Look at how many people watch the Super Bowl. As for the morphing, I haven't seen it yet. I saw it all the time in NCAA, though, so it's definitely better in Madden. Same goes for the low ball trajectory. I've had a few instances where a LB got his hands on a ball that I thought was a little weird, but nothing compared to NCAA. I literally stopped throwing the ball over the middle in NCAA when I saw zone because I knew it was more than likely going to be unrealistically tipped.

Really, Madden and NCAA both have good things and bad things. I've picked Madden because I refuse to deal with BS glitches and online is way smoother with Madden. NCAA feels like you're running in quick sand and when you get used to that, you still have to deal with about 5 game breaking glitches that totally ruin the experience. That doesn't exist in Madden...yet.

yes, thats what I meant by -other factors- the NFL is more popular and they want to make sure they appeal to the larger fan base of just football fans and not football sim purists. The game is good and represents football pretty well but is still pretty simplistic for the average football fan video game guy. I like both, but I like how ncaa just seems to look and feel bigger on screen to me. Madden seems kind of small in player model and field etc.

too bad you cant do in game screen shots in madden like ncaa though, darnit LOL.

if you are going to show replays of the last play while you are picking your next play, they could have at least lowered the play selection box a couple of inches though lol. You cant see anything

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the camera. It does feel like it takes you out of the action. All of the camera angles suck, IMO. NCAA has the camera down to perfection almost.

Totally agree. They need to patch in NCAA 12's camera angle or at least have a partial zoom camera. The standard is a little too far away, particularly on running plays but the zoomed in camera is too close. I can't see my outside WRs in that camera. The standard camera zooms out so the size of your RB is a tiny little guy and on Zoomed the RB isn't even in the screen completely because it's too close. Why not an in between option? This is the one thing I think NCAA is significantly better than Madden. Do any Madden devs come to this site to see some of this stuff? I've seen many people complain about the camera angle on OS and would like to see a better camera angle.
