While at E3 in Los Angles, PastaPadre has compiled the team ratings from NCAA Football 11 (http://www.pastapadre.com/2010/06/16/ncaa-football-11-team-ratings). As of this post, the first 8 teams are missing. We will add them in if/when available.

UPDATE - MadScientist06 (http://twitter.com/madscientist06) of MaddenMatrix.com (http://www.maddenmatrix.com/forums/) has posted a video of all team ratings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJlQE0PlkMg). He adds: Team ratings could change by the time the game goes Gold.

Well, that should be rather simple for me to make an Ohio State team that's worse than the default one.

I like Navy's rankings, pretty fair. I'll probably lower them myself anyways just to add to the challenge in my single player dynasty. I actually want a challenge when I play my games against Air Force, Notre Dame, and Army. ;)

I note that Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Rutgers and Utah are all B, B+, B. Be interesting to see how even those five teams are, given their different offensive styles.

Nebraska's ratings seem to be the exact opposite of what I expected. B+ on defense? I understand we lost Suh, but we had the #1 scoring defense in the country last year! They shouldn't be less than an A- on D & I think an A- on offense is a little generous considering the total lack of production last year!

Nebraska's Offense<< Mizzou's Offense
Nebraska's Defense>> Mizzou's Defense
EA got this one screwed up a bit!

MadSci of MaddenMatrix recorded all of the teams ratings from the Dynasty section:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJlQE0PlkMg

I'll try to go through later today and type them all up. Realize though that these are the numbered ratings whereas PastaPadre's were the letter ratings (I still don't understand why they use different ones in different areas).

Wow just saw Va Tech's ratings and the off is ranked higher than the def. 5 know we have two of the top running backs with williams ans evans but our def is the bread and butter of the hokies come on now.

Grades seem pretty fair. UNC or Ohio State defense? Wow someone could put up some Tecmo Bowl like #s in dnasty mode with Boise State this year if the CPU D in the final build is as bad as the demo.

I've started to add in the numerical team ratings that MadSci posted to the news posting of team ratings here (http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/forums/content.php?214-NCAA-Football-11-Team-Ratings).

Glad to see that even an Alabama fan thinks so! & if they are calling them the best D in the country & that's why they are rated so high, that's fine but why then is Nebraska's D only a 90? & again, I understand we lost Suh! He was AMAZING, but definitely NOT the only reason we were the #1 scoring D in the country.

& our offense should be a B at best.

I'm a big Bama fan, but Alabama's D is rating too high......wow

I couldn't agree more. How many returning starters? What 2 or 3 I think. I'm really not buying their offensive rating either. While Bama has the best running back tandem in the NCAA, I don't put their passing attack on that same pedestal honestly. This is me slamming Bama, just being an honest fan of NCAA. Just like their special teams being a rated a 99 overall, if I'm not mistaken I think Alabama is breaking in a new kicker for this year as well.

Heck Penn State's offensive rating is equally too high in my opinion, just for the fact of breaking in a new QB and a questionable O-Line. Then throw in that the special teams is rated to high for PSU as well after the performance that Wagner displayed last year they should only really be a C+ or a B- at the most.

These I'm sure are everywhere if people want to be picky, but just some of the things that bother me about EA and their ratings.

psusnoop
06-17-2010, 03:31 PM
Heck to get even more into it, after seeing the blue/white game and also hearing things about our QB situation here at PSU I don't know how in the world any QB on the roster should be rated higher then 73 or 75 and that is the honest to goodness truth.

Our Kicker should be about a 75 as well.

Only 1 player on our O-line should be in the 90's, and then no one else should be over a 85 overall.

On defense is pretty close, though I'm sure they'll rank our LB'rs and CB's slightly higher but I really worry about them rating our FS and SS way to high.

Coachdenz
06-17-2010, 03:32 PM
I don't know why either rating is that high to be honest.

JeffHCross

I've started to add in the numerical team ratings that MadSci posted to the news posting of team ratings here (http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/forums/content.php?214-NCAA-Football-11-Team-Ratings).We can take a logical stab at the remaining letter ratings if the numerical ratings are right.

Air Force C (75) C+ (78) C (74)
Akron D (64) D+ (65) D+ (67)
#1 Alabama A+ (99) A+ (99) A+ (99)
Arizona B- (83) B+ (90) B- (80)
Arizona State B (85) B- (82) B+ (89)
#20 Arkansas B+ (90) A (96) B (85)
Arkansas State D+ (66) C- (69) D+ (68)
Wyoming C (72) C- (69) C+ (77)

Army should have a C- offense and D+ defense if their numerical ratings are right. Army's numerical is the exact same, across the board, as Arkansas State.

I've been working on a spreadsheet(google) that list Team's info, like prestige, ratings, ranking, etc... I figured I'll share it with everyone. as of right down, I got down to Maryland, but still adding them.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ariz5WETeaOwdDVSd2RTUEhvTU9hbkI0YnVVZmlSY Xc&hl=en

I figured I could expand on it more later on, like adding the teams' play style, their location, etc...

Nice work Solidice. Can't believe Michigan is an 87 overall. I'm attaching a spreadsheet with your work but with a conference lookup table if you want to use it. I think it's cool to be able to sort by conference and rating as well.

Solidice

I can add in the conferences, and then you can go to view>list view and sort by the different columns(as well as a specific entry, like MWC, or Big 12, etc). I was probably going to add in the conferences anyway. I just wanted to get all the teams in first.

Wow... 99 everything for bama? I'm die hard , but not the kind that's unrealistic. Alabama is great, that's no doubt, but I think defense should probably be low 90s.... we have a lot of new starters, granted they have raw skills and talent, but the lack of experience should drop them to low 90s. And offense should not be 99... I'd say about 97 or 96 would be sufficient.

My point was just don't manually key in the conferences. I did the table for you. It can be added by just copying the lookup table formula. I can do it when you are done.

Pasta Padre has posted the team offensive styles for most of the teams in the game (http://www.pastapadre.com/2010/06/18/ncaa-football-11-team-by-team-list-of-offensive-styles). Missing the first eight and also Wyoming. We'll add them to the table in the first post.

I've added a few more things, the teams mascot, if it's in the game. added the team's rivals(based on NCAA 10). started a defense column, though only the demo teams have been filled in for now.

I locked the first column in place, so if it's too wide for your monitor(since it's all on one sheet at the moment), you'll still see what row your looking at when you scroll over.

added another sheet(the different sheets are at the bottom) that list all the uniform options for each teams(text only). Once I get the game, I plan on making another sheet that'll list the formations in each playbook(not sure how I'll format that one yet). also, I'll eventually update the rivals column(if anything changed from 10 to 11).

That's a good job.

Can you make 1 small change though? I see in the rival category, the rivals are in alphabetical order. Can you put the first rival listed first? It makes a difference for people swapping out for Teambuilder teams as they only get the first team listed as their rival. I'll even volunteer to write them down if you want.

I have what the "primary" rival was in my original document I used to put into this spreadsheet, but I couldn't bold it individually(or anything else to single it out). it would always bold the entire cell. I'll go back through at some point and put the primary one in the front. not sure if the TB rival process will be the same for NCAA 11 though.

You could always just put an asterisk (or similar symbol) after the primary rival. Probably less work that rearranging everything.

Can I recommend to put the Primary Rival in it's own cell and then list Additional Rivals in a separate cell? That way if someone wants to find a particular primary rival, they can either filter or sort the list accordingly.

nearly had a very frustrating issue. the document I was working crashed some how and was no longer accessible(so the previous link I provided may not work anymore). but luckily, my history saved an slightly older version of it that allowed me to export it to my PC and now I have imported it back(did not lose anything from what I can tell). new link is here:

only think different is that I expanded the rank column to include the 1-120 pre-season poll.
