Pasta has posted the following article (http://www.pastapadre.com/2011/07/05/new-ea-sports-games-could-be-announced-this-week) today...

He has received indications that EA is making a bi-annual (not to be confused with bi-winning) NCAA Basketball title....

EA's Summer Showcase (http://www.ea.com/1/summer-showcase) is today starting in 7 minutes... here's the description:
Tune in to see what’s new from NHL 12, NCAA Football 12, The Sims franchise, a debut trailer from FunCom’s Secret World, and brand new game announcements and presentations! Watch as EA premieres its future games line-up live from EA’s Headquarters in Redwood Shores, California.

I'll be watching it for the NCAA info (though I'm sure it's 100% everything we've heard before) and will let you guys know what I see.

Damn. It hasn't buffered for me a single time since I joined. I did notice the quiet as hell audio, plus it was only coming out of the left channel in their system. Now they got it fixed and it's louder and more normal, and coming out of both channels on the speakers.

Just a heads up, as expected, the NCAA coverage was just simply highlighting known features, that and seeing the opening intro video.

So far we've seen NCAA, NHL, Sims Pirates, Ipad (NFS & FIFA) and Facebook game (Risk Factions which includes zombies and a donkey cannon ).

No new console title announcements... all new was mobile, downloadable (Burnout Crash) or Facebook games.

Yeah. That was actually rather disappointing. I wish now, looking back, that I hadn't bothered listening, and just kept doing the other stuff I was doing beforehand.

If I had three

College Freaking Lacrosse - The Indie game on XBL is a bit of an eyesore and not that great of a game.
NCAA Basketball - I love and still have 10 outside the freezing issue, it was making some strides.
Tennis Game - Since you do have the Wimbledon license and have yet to do anything with it but a half assed Wii game.

EA has proven they have no clue how to do college baseball so we can forget about that. Of course if they did they could always use the same rosters from MVP 07 and swap em around to different teams.

College hockey would also be a choice but really should be integrated into the NHL series. We all know a standalone college hockey game would not sell.

Yeah I'd like to see EA do a full fledged tennis game.

Lot's of tennis on the market. Really the number one priority needs to be the return of NCAA BASKEBALL 12/13.

That may be, but they're all suck-ass/half-assed tennis games. 2K's Top Spin series, while it holds it's own, has never been that great. That about the only legit tennis game on the market. Everything else is a wannabe game on Wii or a pile of crap.

Oh agreed. And I would kill to have the NCAA Baseball franchise come back for just a one night stand so I can play it again. (My PS3 isn't a backwards compatible one)

The only problem with tennis games is that they just do not sell well in the US. Top Spin 4 sold more overseas then it did here. All the Top Spins have been enjoyable, with TS2 being the exception as it was rushed big time

Top Spin 4 sold more overseas then it did here.I don't think (well, I really know) the US is the primary market for the NHL or FIFA titles either, but that doesn't stop them from making it. Market is less of a factor versus total audience.

They even used to distribute a Rugby game. The US certainly wasn't the primary market there :D

Oh how I miss the old days. :( I used to own that Rugby game. One of the most fun games I ever played. And agreed. They aren't just looking at the US market, though it is the main market they look at for games. FIFA is definitely a more popular game elsewhere worldwide than it is in the US. Hockey I think a case could be made for the US as the primary market, though Canada is by far the main market for NHL.

I loved the Rugby game back in the PS2 days but I would rather have an Aussie Rules game. One genre that has been completely missed is motocross. Yeah, we get the MX vs ATV vs Floating in the air for unrealistic amounts of time. I was going to get Alive at the new low price until I realized there is basically no career mode and you have to wait for any supercross tracks (except for the DLC of Stewarts compund). It is a shame that the closest thing we have to a good motocross game this gen is an XBLA game, Trials HD.

Oh God yes! Someone, for the love of God, make an Aussie Rules game! I'm watching the replay of West Coast vs. Geelong from Friday on ESPN3 right now. I would buy an Aussie Rules game, day 1 buy for me. I don't care if it was just a work in progress for the first year or two, I would still slam $60 down on the checkout counter for it.

Actually one did come out in April this year. AFL Live and is on the 360, PC. PS3, Wii, etc.

http://www.ebgames.com.au/xbox360-152512-AFL-Live-Xbox-360

I just hate to import games and this one did not get really good reviews.

Check out a long gameplay video. It is just not very polished and the cameras and control would make me dizzy.

Smooth, I love your passion for Aussie, but the simple reality is that it's NEVER GONNA HAPPEN in NORTH AMERICA. The market is too small for the cost benefit analysis. Trust me on this... I have wanted a CFL game for 10+ years but the start up costs, licensing costs, production costs, etc make these type of games major money losers.

Did you not play the amazing CFL Football '99? I used to have to deal with that dude from winter valley software back in the old days.

Yeah, that looks more like a PS2 game in terms of graphic quality. Still not terrible and would be fun. Though I agree about the camera. That much turning and flipping, I'd only be able to go one game at a time. Definitely wouldn't be getting it from EB Games though. First, thanks to how much the Australia government rapes when it comes to taxes and prices, I'm not paying $108 for it, plus the shipping costs to get it shipped over from Australia. Second, at least as far as EB Games is concerned, they don't ship internationally from Australia at the moment.

I know, and that's what pisses me off. So many sports that game companies give the middle finger to because the market is too small or they wouldn't turn a profit. But then you see some of these other stupid as hell arcade sports games come out, and I sit there and think "what if that money hadn't been wasted on a pile of crap like that, and instead had been used to make something like a Rugby game, or Aussie Rules game, or some other good sport that gets absolutely no attention.

Same thing with lacrosse. Lacrosse has been growing massively in popularity for years now, with teams and clubs and leagues popping up overnight in states all over the country, yet it's still nothing more than some not very great made independent games on Xbox Live and PSN.
