ESPN Article today about $13,000 in parking fines from the UNC football team during a 3 year period. Combine that with the shady agent and the academic scandal and :North_Carolina: might want to think about scheduling :Ohio_State: at the end of the year for the Probation Bowl sponsored by Billy Joe's Chevrolet and Yo Momma Tattoo Parlor.

As long as the kids were held accountable for their tickets like any other student, then its a non-issue to me.

OSU is definitely higher of a profile since Jim Tressel tried to put the oblivious cap on.

OSU's involved a cover up but a coach at UNC may have been involved in recruiting kids for agents and kickbacks. I don't know everything about what went on there but both are pretty serious problems that were more than one time things. OSU's may be a little less as the tatoo deals and selling memorabilia aren't brutal offenses. The cover up was the worst part of it and Tressel is gone.

gonna make a prediction that both of these schools wind up with less of a punishment than what usc did.

USC should be outraged if that happens.....and rightfully so.

The riots that would occur at USC if that happened, would make the Vancouver riots look like people playing pattycake.

Don't worry about USC. Captain Compete will save them.

Will Farrell is awesome.

And yes, USC is watching the OSU situation.

if it actually did happen, where osu and unc get minor penalties, usc should sue the ncaa.....but i get the impression pat haden just wants to forget about this whole thing by any means necessary. he doesnt want to drag this out for another 5 years.

The academic scandal at :North_Carolina: from what I have read/heard is pretty severe. Other students taking tests/papers for others and the fixing of grades.

IMHO they both should get the same (if not a bigger penalty) than :USC:

IMHO they both should get the same (if not a bigger penalty) than :USC:Only if they get "lack of institutional control". Ohio State certainly has the potential to get it, but it would have been in UNC's notice of allegations if they were going to get it. They avoided it, so their punishment won't be nearly as bad as USC's, across the board. The football team individually might take more of a hit though.

The actual violating act was worse at UNC. Academics and Agents are major no-nos for the NCAA. But the cover-up by Jim Tressel puts OSU's over the top, easily. As usual, the cover up was considerably worse than the act it was covering.
