Looking for a good PS3 HDD.

have you looked on newegg? I ordered a 1TB for around 200$. I dont think I will fill that up any time soon

Also would a USB powered External Hard Drive work? Could I put stuff on it and not have to fool with taking the one I got out and putting a new one in and backing up and all that fun stuff.

You can't store games or save files on an external drive. You can do a backup to it but it backs up all of your content in a dump file.

Yeah you would need an external hdd to create a backup image of what is on your current hdd and for the internal hdd it has to be a 2.5" sata laptop hdd and from there you restore the image off of the external hdd.

Note the external drive needs to be in FAT32 to format also
