They're crazy for making this a limited edition. I bet they could sell a million of these easily for $99.

Souljah is right....At $89, they could sell 1 mill+ in a week.

I'm gonna venture a wild guess, and say there is a lot more than just 125,000, and that they are just saying that as a marketing tactic to try and get people to snap up pre-orders left and right.

Interesting to read the reactions to this Hall of Fame Edition so far. On here, guys are saying that this will sell like wild, while on other sites people are questioning the value you get for the extra $30. I suppose, like other things we've talked about here as of late, everyone has an opinion on what is worth the extra money and what isn't.

Since I don't play Madden Ultimate Team, it doesn't appeal quite as much to me. For collectors with the money, however, getting a signed card from a Hall of Famer will be more than worth the cost.

Oh I know I have no interest in it. I don't do card collecting, and I really don't care for Ultimate Team. It was nice in 10 or 09 or whenever it first came out, it was nice little thing to screw around on for a bit, but the novelty wears off after a while. But it's just like the people who sit there paying $150 for every single collector's edition of a game that comes out. There's always going to be people who will buy it.

The header image announcing the Hall of Fame Edition on the Madden NFL 12 title site looks like this:

I don't collect cards or play MUT so I wouldn't be interested in this.

Nope. People pay way more then that for other limited/collector editions.

I'm not into MUT, the signed card would be pretty cool even though I'm not a card collector...if anything it would be just so I don't have to purchase the regular box copy with a Browns player on it :D

 To each their own however. Hopefully, someone from TGT will snag the lucky gold card or whatever. Doesn't seem to me to be a very good "value" though.

I don't often find myself in agreement with PastaPadre, but he did have a pretty funny Twitter message earlier:

They're offering people a chance to not have Peyton Hillis on their cover for an extra $30! How thoughtful of them.

After getting the chance to briefly meet Hillis though, he's too much of a good guy--very humble--for even the most jaded Browns foe to hate on him being on the cover.

Preordered a 360 and PS3 version until I decide which one I want. I absolutely LOVE Marshall Faulk and that special edition looks bad ass.

No doubt, but a million units? Tell you what--you tell Marshall Faulk that he has to personally sign 1 million cards, and then we'll talk. ;)

lol..yeah but still.

In the end it is not all that serious for an extra $30, once I get the game it rarely ever goes back into its case until the next version comes out anyway. I just rotate it in the case of the next game I'm playing.

I doubt he even signed that 125,000. :D

Being Canadian, I could not get one anyways... but it just doesn't sound appealing.

I do the same.

I have no interest at all for the HOF edition. Nothing included in it is worth the extra $30 for me.

When we got NFL Headcoach with Madden, now that was a deal.

HOF Edition now has a $20 credit when ordered through Amazon for both PS3 and 360.

Weird. It doesn't list the credit at the top, but it does if you scroll down.

I think it's because the credit promotion was just added today. That's a sweet deal since I'll basically be getting it for $70(going to use my $20 NCAA credit) and another $20 towards probably Gears 3.
