Today the embargo is being lifted for coverage of the Dynasty information for NCAA Football 12. Throughout the day we'll continue to update this article as sites begin to release their information. Released so far is coverage from ourselves, GameInformer, Gamespot, EA Sports, TraditionSportsOnline, and ESPN.

Ever since we first had our taste of what a coaching carousel can be, we’ve been clamoring for it’s inclusion in EA SPORTS NCAA Football 2012. In my opinion, no other sport is so singularly impacted by a single man. The coach is the heart of any NCAA program and can turn a small program into a contender or drive a historical program into the ground. That’s why I’m excited to bring you the news on how the coaching carousel will be implemented in this year’s title.<hr>

ThrutheUprights (http://thrutheuprights.com/ncaa-12-coaching-carousel-and-dynasty-information/)

Have you every wanted to experience what it was like to work your way up as a coach or maybe you said to yourself I would have been fired as Head Coach in real life?
Well NCAA FOOTBALL 12 has some news for you!
It’s called Coaching Carousel and this is how it works . You can start off as Defensive or Offensive Coordinator
and work your way up to Head Coach.

This year's installment throws a number of new features at its Dynasty and Road to Glory modes, and we tell you exactly how you can make your mark.<hr>

Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/ncaa-football-12/news.html?sid=6315078&mode=previews)
Whether your favorite team is a powerhouse like Alabama or a scrappy underdog like Northeast Wyoming Automotive and Dental Sciences Institute, everyone wants to see their alma mater achieve glory on the gridiron. Those who want to take that desire a step further are probably the ones most interested in NCAA Football's Dynasty mode, which lets you take control of your team and dictate its fate for years into the future through a number of strategic choices. As with every iteration of the game, the folks at EA Tiburon are making a number of changes and tweaks to this mode for 2011<hr>

ESPN (http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/videogames/blog/_/name/thegamer/id/6578829/ncaa-football-12-dynasty-mode-details?readmore=fullstory)
This is one of the reasons I'm so excited about "NCAA Football 12's" revamped Dynasty mode. Now gamers have the option to start the season as either an offensive or defensive coordinator, with the computer playing the coaching role of whichever discipline you fail to choose. So while I'm calling all the shots on offense, customizing my playbook, and calling all the plays I want to run, on defense, it's up to the computer to not only call the plays, but to run the defense while I watch from the sidelines.

From Game Informer on RTG:

ROAD TO GLORY

This year's mode is designed by former Auburn running back Alex Howell. He says his aim is to "create as much of my high school and college experience that I could through Road to Glory."

High School

•Explores your high school years more in depth, so you'll play a full senior season and gain recruiting points that are based on your stats
•After each game you'll pick three local schools of varying prestige that are interested in you
•Your recruiting board shows which schools you've picked and how far you are to earning a scholarship for each one. You can walk on to any school, but if you have a scholarship, you'll be able to transfer your recruiting points into XP for college
•You'll play and be recruited on both sides of the ball
•You can edit your HS senior season from seven to eleven games, and can import online browser-built Team Builder teams as your opponents. This lets you recreate your real-life high school team's schedule if you want
College

Coach's Trust

•You work your way up the depth chart by earning Coach's Trust Points, and even when you have enough points to catch the player who's higher than you on the chart, you can then only take that position by winning a Position Battle – which is a glorified practice session
•Non-starters will earn Trust Points through practices and occasions when you see the field during mop-up time, etc.
•Coach Trust Points extend to your on-the-field power. QBs won't be able to call audibles or hot routes until they have earned the coach's trust
•Earn enough points and you can have the chance to call plays from "Extra Plays" – an extended selection of plays than what the coach has already called. This is available in varying frequency during a game the more Trust Points you earn
•The development team is also working on improving the AI play calling
XP and the Upgrade Store

•XP you earn during your college career is spent on item packs in the Upgrade Store. These packs are built around groups of attributes for specific types of players. For example, the scat back pack boosts your acceleration and juke ability
•There are 600 item packs total, and they'll be six different ones available each week. Rarity, cost, and duration vary, but they will all be based around your position
•Upgrade Store items cannot be bought via micro-transactions
Misc.

•Calendar system scrapped, and the Road to Glory presentation is similar to the Dynasty Mode's menus
•The mode's menus, replays, montages, etc. will be centered around your player
•Practices are now 25 reps per practice
•Can save all your Road to Glory replays onto your NCAA browser page
•No more study sessions on your calendar

Recruiting in Dynasty mode has been tuned, but not changed greatly

Can you guys talk about this quote from the article or still need to wait on EA? I wasn't looking for any big changes...just hoping the CPU logic is much better. Hopefully the CPU recruits based on system and recruits correct number of players at each position.

EDIT: Oops...:fp:

Are we going to hear anything on recruiting?

In the game informer article it says that recruiting has been "tuned" but not changed much.

That's a big negative IMO. Some of the recruiting logic in '11 is absolute garbage (4 and 5 star players signing to w.o. when they have offers from prestigious schools, etc.).

jaymo76

Yeah I don't get why the head coach can't hire/fire the coordinators. This leads me to believe that coordinators play no actual role in the game.:(

Online Dynasty
This year, EA is giving players the chance to take their dynasty online in an entirely different way. Besides just managing your dynasty through the game itself, you can also do a fairly extensive amount of management through a web browser. Things like weekly recruiting tasks, viewing rosters, and viewing schedules can all be done online for free. But you will have to shell out a few bucks for more active control of your team through the web browser, with features such as controlling games through the browser using full playbook support costing $2.99 (240 Microsoft points).

Interesting.

Interesting.

A comment on paying for WEB features.

NCAA 11 online features were just file hosted. Meaning all the events were done on your local PS3 and a file was uploaded to an EA server. Means the server didnt have to do a thing but accept files and store and release them.

With this feature you are playing your games in affect on their server which means increased space band width costs and programs added and maintained on their(EA) server. EVEN just advancing means the server, now has to have the game code and processing power, to evaluate the file and progress and advance or supersim /play the dynasty. Its basiclly an online game for 2.99. / 7 bucks to play and advance

for 7 dollars 2.99 a piece for an online game is small when you compare what you can do and get out of those 7 dollars vs a pack of cigarettes or a six pack or a movie ticket.

I'm not worried about it being made up. In '11, Southern Miss comes out of a tunnel that doesn't exist. That's all. The endzone where the team comes onto the field is open so there's no place for a tunnel.

I don't know how it is with a crappy team but I was able to pull in top 5 classes still with Michigan. I would always get less than five 5* kids which is a lot less than AA or Varsity. I feel like I know what I'm doing as I've read other guys struggle on Heisman. Definitely give it a try.

One thing I always thought was funny about '11 and it will be the same in '12 from what I have seen, is the fans in the stands have CHAIRS that they are standing in front of. Actual seats... not benches or rows like 98% of college stadiums have. I know the teams that play in Pro stadiums have seats, like :Pitt: and :San_Diego_State: but really, how many college stadiums have seats?

It's minor though... not a big deal, just kinda funny.

Arkansas State has chairbacks in their stadium... all of the red is chairbacks, the rest are benches (pardon the old picture).

I can't be certain but I'm fairly sure that the stadium chairs, benches, etc. are closely matched to real life. If I get the itch I may check ASU's stadium on NCAA11 and see how it compares but fairly sure it's accurate.

That's how it is at So. Miss also. The whole stadium is bleachers other then the section below the pressbox on the home side. Those have chairbacks. The new section that was just built has some chairbacks also but that who section is essentially for big money ballers.
