(shrugs) Could it possibly look like and sound exactly like Team Fortress 2 anymore?

It's not. The former head of design of multiplayer maps for Killzone 2 is the head of multiplayer on this, so it's more than likely going to be hugely comparable to the game play that existed in KZ2, and for that, it's an automatic day one buy. The classes are the same as KZ2. The developers have also said that firing from the hip is going to be just as good as aiming down the sights(FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT) and it's obvious in videos it takes around 7 or 8 bullets to down someone which is...just like KZ2.

Can't wait for it. It's pretty dumb when you're excited for a game because of one person, but that guy knows his shit when it comes to online shooters, so I'm expecting it to play a little more to my liking than recent shooters.

This game looks pretty cool, I've been excited for a while about it. Hopefully I'll be able to get it.

Any shooter that focuses on objectives like this is automatic for me. My deathmatch days have been over for a few years now.

Posted in Deals thread but wanted to post it here as well.

Direct2Drive has a pre-order up for Brink for $45 (http://www.direct2drive.com/9744/product/Buy-BRINK-Download). However, posted on CheapAssGamer, if you use this code, you get 15% off to make it $38.21. Note, this is for the PC version only.

As well, they have a special offer for Brink + Fallout: New Vegas (http://www.direct2drive.com/10839/product/Buy-BRINK-with-Fallout:-New-Vegas-Digital-Collector%26#39;s-Edition-Bundle-Download) for $65 and then 15% off makes it $55.

I can definitely see myself sinking hundreds of hours into this. It looks just like KZ2 game play.

Oh. My. God. This game's "campaign" is arena style.:sick:

I guess I never really like FPS campaigns anyway, but I definitely don't like that. Hopefully the online is as good as I think it will be, or it'll be a total waste of money.

I think what I like most about this game is that you can build up your same character offline or online. I don't always want to play online but if it's a waste of time to play offline, then I'll likely end up just not playing the game once I finish the story. That and I like that friends can jump in & out at any time.

From watching the stream, this seems like it would be a fun game to play online if PSN ever comes back up.

Yeah, I went ahead and preordered off of Amazon. $54.99 with 99 cents release day shipping + $10 coupon. It also comes with some special pack or something. Getting the game on release day for $55 and $10 off a future game? Ring me up.

I'm preordering it too. Question though, they don't charge you until the release day right?

If you order with release day delivery, they'll charge you tomorrow since they'll actually ship it out tomorrow and you'll get it Tuesday. If you order it tonight, they'll charge you at like 8AM EST. If you order any time tomorrow before...I think...6PM, it'll charge you right away.

Question though, they don't charge you until the release day right?Amazon charges you when your order goes into the "Preparring to Ship", or something like that, stage when you can't make any more changes to your order. It'll usually show on your bill on the day or the day after the order ships.

I talked to them about an hour ago. They said they charge me on the day it'll ship, which would be tomorrow, but if my bank stops the payment then it won't ship. I'm pretty sure BOA would stop the payment since my paycheck won't hit my account until Tuesday morning.

Is there local multiplayer on here or is it just online multiplayer?

I think so. The campaign is basically multiplayer with bots and I'm pretty sure there's drop in and drop out co-op.

Fuck, I love Amazon. Apparently they goofed and had it at $59.99 plus a $15 credit before making it $54.99 and a $10 credit. I emailed that just seeing if I'd be able to get the $5 additional credit. Nope. They gave me $10 extra, so I got the game for $55 and a $20 credit. :D

Played for a couple of hours tonight. I like it, though still getting used to it. Definitely comparable to TF2 but with improved gameplay. Couple of complaints so far, one is that I can easily tell that the campaign will be very short, but you don't buy this game for the campaign. The second complaint is that the CPU is way too dumb... like REALLY dumb.

So like Unreal Tournament 3?

I've been pretty good at buying fun games this year and not getting bad ones. I failed here. Absolutely brutally bad. It's laggy online, there's a ton of low resolution textures, the animations and movement are cumbersome, there's a full one second delay between aiming down the sight and actually being able to shoot, the matchmaking sucks, you constantly run out of the ammo, grenades are worthless, melee is worthless, etc...

I could go on and on. This game has some serious patching that needs to be done.

So a BAD Team Fortress 2 clone then? Figured as much. Shooters have went downhill so fast it's ridiculous. I can't even stand to look at them anymore and I've been DYING for a good FPS.

Never played TF2, so I couldn't tell you. It plays more like KZ2 than anything else.

I heard that the 360 version of the game is an unfinished product that was gonna need a day one patch.

I foresee PS3 having the same problems. The game runs on P2P servers and that's the main problem. If they don't get this stuff patched ASAP, this game isn't going to last a week.

My copy of Brink showed up. Played it for about an hour. It's not BAD, but I was really unimpressed.

I'll play it some more tonight, and then see where things stand. I WANT to like the game, it just feels kind of... blah.

Well.... more time with Brink online didn't salvage it. What a buggy, unplayable pile of shit.

This video is exactly what all of my MP matches are like. And everyone in them had green connection bars. http://youtu.be/kFumqVtqz6U

And just FYI, this is the 360 version I'm playing. I cannot vouch for the PC version.

The PC version seems to be fairly well put together. I really haven't had any issues with the exception of my audio dropping at one point (seem others mention it). Hopefully that gets fixed but otherwise I'd say it plays well.

$59.99 - $15 = $44.99
$54.99 - $10 = $44.99

No difference! They should have told you as much. Well played, though, getting an extra $10. :D

I know, others tried it on CAG so I figured I would, too. Sure enough, got an extra $10. Looked in my account this morning and there was another $5 for something, I truly have no idea. So basically, I paid $55 and got a $25 credit. Works for me. :D
