I need suggestions and opinions on some things. I also seen where someone stated a thread about moving best receiver to slot. I have a particular question to ask and didn't know if it really fit any of the current threads, so I started a new one.

My question is, would moving Leach and Hurd from CB to Saftey be a good move? What about Formation subbing them in to FS/SS in Pass Defense sets? Their ZCV is better than the safteys and the safteys are better suited for MAN.

Your starting strong safety would make a good corner, and so would your number three corner if you were to run mostly man coverages. Your starting corners would make better safeties as their agility is pretty bad, if it was around 90ish they would be great cover corners.

Despite all the other ratings if your corner has bad agility he will not be effective in coverage.

When I look for a corner I look at agility, man/zone coverage, acceleration and speed pretty much in that order.

I agree with those thoughts OB.

So with this DB lineup, You would move
Jamar Leach (CB) to FS
Kevin Hurd (CB) to SS
N Dew (SS) to CB
K Fuller (CB) to starting CB
???
Formation sub in passing defenses because I run both man and zone. Who would you put where in Zone defenses?

Or awareness, which I definitely need on the offensive line.

The biggest problem you would have is you'd have one really good corner, a cover two corner or a decent man coverage guy, and safeties that would get run over. With your current guys, I would leave the guys in their spots, but the SS in the slot in the nickle and then use your best two remaining safeties.

The hardest guy to cover is the slot and by moving your SS over him it'd help a lot. you'd just need to be aware that your outside guys will not change directions well.

I agree which is why when I see one that does I go after him hard, especially when he has decent coverage ratings. Much like the 3-Star CB I picked up this year, Joel Bush, who has B agility, acceleration, man coverage and zone coverage to go along with his B+ speed. Outside of the #1 CB, Bush was the most well rounded guy I could find.

And sadly I was giving him an hour a week from the beginning of the season but it wasn't until like Week 6 or so that I ever showed up in his Top 10 despite promising him the world. By that time though, you had picked up on him (or maybe you were on him from the start as well).

I was on him day one, week one and had him as number one on my board after papa signed the #1 CB with an instant commit week one. I've only got two returning corners so I was throwing the world at him.

Well, that does make me feel a little bit better then. I've got four corners returning next season, though three of them are seniors.
