I forgot to change the sliders, most are playing users, a weak opponent or have a bye so it should effect this week too much.

I got to squeeze in my recruiting + 10 minutes of practice time....I wish I would've woken up at my original alarm time.

I was rewarded with 2 instant commits so I'm happy. It was a CB and WR....didn't even notice a name, because I was so excited about entering practice mode.

Since I'm getting off at 3:30pm....I will probably get my game in late tonight....hopefully I'm not the last waiting to advance :p

I saw those instants and quickly removed them without looking at the names too. I'm nervous about recruiting this year, I got zero instant commits :( but I'm more nervous about all the competition for guys. This is going to be a battle this year.

That CB's name is David Brown, the #1 CB in the class. Not happy that he was an instant. I need corners in a bad way.

@Oneback....I would've rather had instant commits on the OL....I have exactly 10 with 3 seniors....and yall see how much I love to redshirt.

I love my 6'1"+ CBs that can lock 'em down so I am happy with that #1 guy....especially when I didn't need any CBs. With 4 senior WRs....I definitely need WRs so I was happy with that.

It helps a ton with those 2 commits....bringing my actives from 16 to 14. I low-balled a few so it wouldn't kill me if they instant-committed to any of you guys....so if they don't....I'm ready for the full-court press in week 2.

@Snoop....yes it will....first place I hit was in-state for recruits that I liked....I usually just go after whoever whereever, but last year has humbled me.

01-18-2011, 10:14 AM
Ah yea, im just used to never having a 5* list me as #1 to start the year, i think EA changed the logic for FSU this year after so many down years (despite recruiting well) now UF gets more than FSU despite now being a 5* prestige team while FSU is 6.

Some teams just always are listed very high, i remember 2 years ago I death penaltied a bunch of very good schools like FSU/Miami/USC/Texas and even at 1 star prestige they were in it for 4 and 5 * recruits every year. So EA definitely has some logic in their to make it happen.

I like makavelisreborns idea to make it more regional, like texas locking down texas and miami having the edge in south FLA but not the rest of the state, fsu having panhandle/south georgia/south florida/south carolina as good places for them and UF having tampa/orlando area etc...

psuexv
01-18-2011, 10:21 AM
Yeah I think they definitely weight the "close to home" factor.

5 five stars from Texas this year, 4 have Texas as #1

psuexv
01-18-2011, 10:43 AM
Texas definitely has the advantage on 5 stars. This is all the 5 stars and which school has them #1.

must be the ncaa (oneback) sanctions of 1 less regular season game this year that is hurting me with recruits lol.

It kind of happened to me in our first year. Somehow USC actually had 13 game on their actual schedule with 4 OOC games and 9 Conference games. But the game generated the schedule with only 12 and dropped one of the conference game instead of the OOC. I finished 7-1 and took like 3rd in the conference because Oklahoma State finished 8-1.

PSU with a decent showing in the opening game.

Solid game for Bolden 13 for 19 239yds 3TD 2INT's

Scott Clark had 14 carries for 102yds 1TD
Jeremy Mackey had 13 carries for 41yds

True Freshman Joshua Morales pulled in 3 receptions for 91yds and 2TDs. One being a nice grab and run for 73yds and a TD (vid posted)
Alex Kenney, the SR speedster finally getting a chance at WR for the Lions added 3 catches for 72yds 1TD, (nice 50yd go route vid posted)

I know forget which one, but I lost either my starting SS or FS for 4 weeks. I really need to look into this because I was redshirting their backups which could be a HUGE problem if I have to burn it. My only choice would be to play a true freshman SS at either position. Not real pleased with that.

Defensively our guys played real good. Forcing 5 turnovers 3 fumbles and 2 INT's.

John Inman DE recorded 2 sacks and a forced fumble.
Terry Jean forced 2 fumbles from the DT position.
True FR CB Jonathan Williams recorded an INT as did Emmanuel Smith (JR CB)

Our front 4 really caused problems up front against Clemson, wrecking all kinds of havoc and rushing throws. The real libility is the secondary, but the staff knew this going in and tried their hardest to confuse the defense with some zone coverages which didn't work the greatest. This will be a problem heading forward.

Sooners forced to outscore Lobos after miserable play early, 77-45

"We've got alot to correct.. we always suck against no huddle 5WR spread though."

The Sooners turned it over 5 times, including a stretch of 3 turnovers in three touches in the second quarter which gave UNM the lead.

Besides that, the Sooner offense dominated. The offense put up 829 yards and 568 of them came on the ground.

The surprise of the day? QB Blake Turner. The duel-threat former 2* recruit got the start as being the only non-walk on QB and was 13-for-26 for 261 yards, 2 TDs and an INT. On the ground, Turner led a dominant running game carrying the ball 10 times for 147 yards and 3 TDs. "He blew away everyone's expectations.. Turner's got some jets."

Brennan Clay ran it 9 times for 150 yards and 3 TDs, Finch 8 times for 168. Kenny Stills took a WR sweep 44 yards to the house. FB Brad Mason took off on a 38 yard run.

Turner also spread the ball around to 9 different guys.

On defense, DTs Eric Humphrey and Torrea Peterson had 2 sacks each. Freshman LB Ronald Wheeler had an INT.

The bad: DE Jordan McNair & FS Ron Grier, both redshirt sophomores, went down on back to back plays, both with bruised shoulders and both will miss four weeks? (Glitch, much?)

Wisconsin travels to College Station and defeats Texas A&M 31-10 due largely in part of their defense forcing three turnovers and recording 10 tackles for loss. Offensively, the Badgers had a mostly conservative gameplan but still managed to put up 391 yards, 120 on the ground, 271 through the air. RSSo QB Jon Hunter made his starting debut completing 16/26 passes for 235 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 *coughbullshitcough* interception, he also managed to connect passes to 8 different receivers. HB Deon Brown added 15 carries for 80 yards with 2 touchdowns.

Next week, Madison plays host to the defending national champions.
