it's really a no brainer for me....and everyone else.

Yeahhhhhh ... this list could have been predicted around Week 8, at the latest. The only other name that might have been on there back in Week 2 even was Denard. And you can pretty much swap him for Cam and be right the entire year. Denard was the clear front runner, then Cam stole his show and has been gone ever since. James, Luck and Moore were obvious from the pre-season.

Or not so obvious ... here's Phil Steele's preseason list:
1. Pryor
2. Ingram
3. Keenum
4. Landry Jones
5. Andy Dalton
6. Moore
7. The Legend of Ryan Mallett
8. Ryan Williams

James was listed under "Contenders". Andrew Luck was relegated to "Possibilities", along with Ricky Dobbs, Jordan Jefferson, Tyrod Taylor, and yes, Cameron Newton (all the way at the bottom of the list of Possibilities, actually). To be fair, "Possibilities" had like 30 names, but still.

wow.

Gotta win in order to win.

I hate it with all of my being that the cheating mofo is going to win it, but it's going to be Newton...

I still think Lamichael's Ducks are taking home the team trophy. But Cam was unstoppable.

I refuse to vote for a pay for play player or someone who spent time in jail earlier in the year so it came down to Luck or Moore. I went with Moore.

Newton in a landslide. I'd vote Luck #2 though since he means more to Stanford than James means to Oregon imo.

Sympathy vote for Moore?

Sympathy vote for Moore?

Yeah, from CLW. I was going to, but it's pointless considering how insane Newton's numbers are, even if he is a cheating fuck.

How did he cheat? The Heisman goes to the best college football player, don't see how he cheated to become the best college football player.

Drew Sharp, a fairly goofy sports writer from Detroit who goes out of his way to be different, did not include Newton on his Heisman ballot.

Newton is not an eligible player/student athlete under the NCAA rules (see numerous articles on the pay for play between "Daddy" and schools).

Moreover, this "Daddy" defense is going to open a Pandora's Box for EVERY thug that wants to get paid to play.

There is a surprising amount who thought the same way. There is one guy (forget his name) who voted for Owen Marecic, with Nate Solder (Colorado), and Sam Acho (Texas) as his second and third choices.

EDIT: It was David Whitley from AOL Fanhouse. http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2010/12/06/cardinal-owen-marecic-not-cam-newton-rules-for-this-heisman-vo/

Reggie Bush was the best college football player that year and he doesn't have a Heisman anymore.

I've got to give my vote to Newton. I don't care about the off-field things, I care about how he played on the football field.. and that was like the best player in the NCAA.

Reggie Bush was the best college football player that year and he doesn't have a Heisman anymore.Reggie Bush actually got something tangible. That's actually a significant portion of the NCAA rule. There is no evidence that says Newton, or his family, actually received anything.

Well, that was anticlimatic.

Who's the tall, towering guy that was standing behind Cam, beside Archie and Tony Dorsett?

This is true. However I was merely responding to JBs statement

The things Reggie received did not make him a better athlete. I'm not saying I think he should still have the Heisman, just stating he was the best football player that year.

A lot of truth in Whitlock's argument.
