FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Former Indiana basketball player A.J. Moye is still undergoing tests after his stroke and it's too early for doctors to determine a prognosis.

Moye's team in Germany, Deutsche Bank Skyliners Frankfurt, says the former Hoosiers swingman remains hospitalized but is no longer in intensive care. His teammates have visited him.

Team spokesman Thomas Nawrath says Moye still has to undergo a series of important tests before any prognosis can be made.

The 28-year-old Moye suffered a stroke this week, apparently the result of a head-on collision with a teammate in practice on Monday.

"It was what doctors consider a powerful stroke, although there are more serious cases," Nawrath said.

The Skyliners said both players were able to continue practicing after Monday's collision, but that Moye had trouble finding words during a telephone conversation that evening with his stepfather.

Before practice the next day, Moye displayed some "slightly unusual behavior," which later became more noticeable, the club said.

He was first taken to team doctor Herwig Gabriel and then to an emergency room.

Gabriel said Thursday that Moye's life had not been in danger but his cognitive facilities had become "very limited."

Moye arrived in Frankfurt at the start of the season and has averaged 10 points and six rebounds per game, helping the Skyliners to second place in the 18-team German league.

After a stint in Iceland, Moye played for Walter Tigers Tuebingen in Germany for three years and then moved to Kouvot Kouvola in Finland before coming back to Germany.

That had to be a heck of a collision. He's lucky it wasn't what happened to actress Natasha Richardson a couple years back. She went head-first into a tree while skiing - seemed OK - but because she started talking and didn't go to the hospital, she ended up dying from it.
