Going to try out the 3-3-5 to start the season but if I decide I don't like it as much as I want to, I'll switch to a 3-4... I'll post here if I change.

Interesting choice there Kingpin, I understand why though with those two running backs.

Kingpin32
10-04-2010, 09:59 PM
It's going to be a bit tough with my Oline, but I think we're talented enough to get some decent rushing yards. I wanted to do a Shotgun based option team, but I just wasn't getting any good runs in.

JeffHCross
10-04-2010, 10:00 PM
Kinda ironic considering everything ... but Kingpin, you might want to take a look at Air Force. I haven't played with them this year, but in past years it gave me the strengths of running the Bone but the flexibility to run other sets as needbe.

Kingpin32
10-04-2010, 10:03 PM
I'll look into it. I did want one that had a bit more than just the Bone offense. I'll see how a full game looks with GT, then play my next CPU game with Air Force, so hopefully I'll have a set book for Penn State.

It would be funny if that ended being my permanent playbook though.

I had posted that I was changing to the Florida State playbook as my offense was pretty stagnant against Clemson, then I watched the first quarter yesterday morning and wondered why I kept trying to bang into a brick wall and run against 8 and 9 man fronts. Then in the passing game there were quite a few reads I as missing so I decided to stick with Boston College.

Alright, everyone probably knew it was coming but I am switching playbooks, just not sure which one yet. The leader in the clubhouse is Florida State however.

Edit: I am tired of looking at playbooks, I am going to go with North Carolina's the same one I used all of last year...despite its lack of shotgun formations.

In a twist of irony, I actually decided to stick with the Air Force playbook. My offense seemed to like that one the most.

g, are you still using the 335 or did you decide on the switch to the 34?Still using the 3-3-5... I'm still learning it, especially when playing against a HUM opponent but I like some of the things I can do with it.

psusnoop

I dibbled a little bit with the 335 against Kingpin and it was quite effective in run defense but I was bringing it almost everytime I called it. I mixed a little zone but mostly man Cover 1 blitzes against him and James. James is a freak in this game.

Just had a thought ... for sake of sanity, people who change their playbooks should probably go back to the first post and edit to somehow to indicate they changed. What I did was insert a link to the new post into my first one.

I hate to suggest this since I'll have to face it but have you looked at the Wake Forest playbook? Lots of great option looks including a Wishbone formation and quite a bit of I-Form options.

Air Force and Wake Forest were the two playbooks I narrowed it down to, I just like some of the plays in the Air Force book a little better. I still pray for a playbook/play creator next year.

And I am fine with that. If they give us a play creator or even a playbook creator I am sure they will allow us to share them.

Michigan is going back to the spread to get more playmakers on the field. I would really like to stick with the Air Force offense and run the 90's Nebraska offense but it's quite limited despite what I've been able to do to the CPU. So with that said I will be using the Toledo playbook.

Oregon's Pistol offense isn't running as well as it thought it should, so after seeing how well the backup QB played we will be moving in a more pass oriented offense. Perhaps Arizona or Oklahoma St. playbook. I also need to check how long Bennett is out also.

I am thinking about switching up my playbook this year. I'll probably stay with VT offense but I am thinking about switching to the 3-4 or the 3-3-5. I don't think I have a good enough MLB to run 4-3 and the multiple D just has too damn many plays in it.

For now I'm going to say that I'm staying with Nebraska but I almost guarantee that I'll want to change simply because I do so every season. I'll update when I know something more.

Either way though, I'm sticking with the 3-3-5 and if I change, it will be something similar to Nebraska's playbook.

I'm pretty much set with PSU playbook right now, but I have been looking at spreading things out with more of a oneback type offense. I will post if I change.
